Hi....

I'm planning to hook my Windows XP PC to my Sony 36XBR400 HDTV.

I know this thread has been discussed often on here; after reading all the material I can find out there, I've still got a few questions:

First of all, here's my plan.... any comments on this would be appreciated:

1. VGA Output on my video card

to

2. Standard VGA cable

to

3. RCA VHDC300 VGA to Component HD Adapter OR Audio Authority 9A60 converter

to

4. Component video cable (Y Pr Pb)

to

5. Sony HDTV component video input jacks

then

6. Use Powerstrip 3.0 to configure custom settings for my video card

So, my questions:

1. Does my plan sound accurate? (I'd hate to buy the VGA to Component adapter & find out it's not what I need!).

2. Is there a difference between adapters? Audio Authority has one for $129.99, but RCA makes theirs for $89.99. Does it matter?

3. My video card is getting a little ancient. (A 3dfx Voodoo 3500). Will I have better luck with a new video card like a ATI or GeForce2/3? Any reccomendations?

4. Granted, I will be using PowerStrip 3.0 to tweak my video settings, but is there a particular "monitor" i should set the Windows display setting to for best results?

Thanks!!!
