Just started working on a XG75 with broken red CRT (broken neck). After clearing out the tube stem and disconnecting wires to the red, tried to power up the PJ. However, it kept cycling on and off and generated an error "FC" that says "+15 V off". Here are some questions:

1. During power-up cycle, the discharge of the HV within the red crt shell was both visible and audable. I understand this is due to the release of vacuum. Will this hurt the HV circuit?

2. What is the +15V power supply used for? cooling fans?

3. Noticed some liquid on the chasis beneath the red CRT. Is this cooling liquid? where is it from? is it safe material to health?

Please shed some light. Thanks.
