My situation is different from that which came up on searching. I am debating between the 805 and 876. My system is only DirecTv HD receiver and Samy BD1500 going through the reciever to a Sony Pearl. I aslo have a XA-2 for rare SD occaisions. I also use outboard amps (Parasound and Accurus). Would I gain anything from the 876? I already have the Reon chip in the XA-2 for SD DVD. Thoughts?

Easy. 876. The 876 is the 805 with a slightly more powerful amp, Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Volume, Reon chip for video. In all ways, the 876 is a step up.

I'm looking at moving from an 805 to an 876 for the Audyssey Dynamic EQ. Most of my sources are HD already except for SD cable and Wii so the Reon chip is an added bonus not a necessity.
