Hi,

I have built my HPTC almost 2 years ago when pentium III 600 was considered very powerful. I was using it with Win98SE and PowerDVD and WinDVD.

Now I am using TT player and planning to buy the new WinDVD. I am using WinXP. Should I beef up the CPU speed to again any additional PQ or it does it not matter?

You need a brand new Pentium 4 2.4GHz Northwood chip with say, 768MB of RDRAM, maybe a new SCSI 15K RPM hard drive, and the latest Raedon video graphics card. :)

My old AMD 800MHz box with 256MB of PC133 ran just fine. No studders. I only upgraded because I wanted to play some new games.
