I'm going to hook up a powered sub and it doesn't have mono input, only L&R (standard RCA). I have to run a long cable to hook it up, and my receiver output is mono for the sub channel, will the sub still function properly if I only feed a mono input into one of the channels on the back of the sub? if so is it important which (left or right?) Please forgive the stupid question and thank you a million for your time!!!

And thinking further, would it be wiser to run a single input lead or to get a Y-adapter and have the one RCA split into two? I'm not sure how the amp is set up so I wouldn't want to feed cancelling frequencies into different voice coils or anything. it's an Audiosource SW-15
