I have a 16:9 TV, and of course have set up my DVD player to 16:9 mode.


When watching anamorphic DVDs, everything is perfect, except for the special features. They always have black bars! I can't 'zoom' on my TV (KL-W9000 doesn't have a zoom mode with the VGA cable input)... is this just normal?

what player are you using with the KLW9000??

is it the apex??


anyway, more than likely, those special features were transferred

as 'letterboxed' ie 16:9 inside a 4:3 window.


if you set the klw9000 to 'normal', as least the aspect ratio will

be correct. i have a klw7000 and the vga can only toggle between

full and normal. you'll have to go into the service menus in order

to mess with the rgb hue and color settings.


the only dvd player with vga out that can zoom this properly

that i know of is the cinematrix version of the malata 996N.


afaik, the variant of the 996N available in NA doesn't have the

vga output installed.

I'm using the Skyworth 1050P. So it seems if I want to see featurettes fill the whole screen, I'll need to run an extra S-Video connection just for them. That stinks
