In the theater I am building, I need to put up Insul-SHIELD behind the screen (acoustically transparent), but do not have a lot of depth. The wall behind the screen is a concrete "cove". Can the Insul-Shield be mounted directly to this, or do I need to put up studs, insulation, dry-wall and then mount the Insul-SHIELD on this. Problem is I don't think I could spare the 4" or so of depth this would take.

Thoughts?

I see no reason why you couldn't mount it direct. Just understand that the concrete is not going to act like a bass absorbing diaphragm like the drywall you normally mount it over.
