I'm buying speakers this Friday and I have several models in mind. After much reading and racking of my mind I have decided my first choice is the Polk Audio RTi8.

The receiver I'll be running is the Onkyo TX-SR605.

This unit pushes 90wrms per channel and I would like to know if that is too little for these RTi8's? The RTi8's recommended Amplifier Power is 20-250w/channel.

Is this do-able off of this receiver or should I look at another speaker?

I am buying Polk and I am looking at the R50, Monitor 50 and the RTi8. I really like the RTi8 but if my receiver isn't enough it isn't enough.

I am set on this receiver though.

How big is your room? How loud do you like to listen? Are you getting a sub?

If your room is very large, you like to listen very loud and you're not getting a sub, then your receiver isn't powerful enough.

If your room is moderately sized, you listen at fairly reasonable levels and you are getting a sub, your receiver will be fine.

Thanks for the quick post Craig,

The room is 23'4" x 17'2"

I like to watch my movies with some good amount of output from the speakers but I never push them to their max.

I will be running a BIC H100 sub

I'll be buying a center and rear speakers to match which ever front speaker I buy.

This system will be strictly a home theater system only.
