When I turn my tv off, periodically a quick pop sound will come from the TV.


Like one real fast pop. Sounds kind of like how the old crt tv's would sound when you power it up or down, but back then I remember hearing a bunch of snaps or pops.


Is this normal to hear some pops? I read it could be the heating contraction/expansion? Or does it have something to do with the capacitator?


I have a Samsung plasma D7000. Only a few months old.


Once again a quick pop after I turn it off, it'll make those sounds periodically until it doens't make any noise after being turned off for awhile.

Probably just heating/cooling expansion. It's been reported randomly over the years, including my old 2005 PX50U which did it really bad for a few months before subsiding.

Heating/cooling of exactly what though? the panel?


I also don't remember this popping when I first got the tv, I think it started to happen recently. Is it normal this occurs not right after the tv is used?


And does not sound like a capacitor issue does it?
