quick THX compatibility question

280 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  MooseyFate
Hi, I'm new to the forums, and new to owning anything for A/V equipment (other than and old mini-system stereo and 20" tv).

I just bought a THX 6.1 reciever, and non-THX DVD player*. The reciever has THX, the DVD player does not (don't know if my speakers do). Does that matter? Is THX something that movies are/will be recorded in, or just a certification that means it's good quality stuff (which both are anyways)?Am I posting this in the right area?

Thanks!!!

-Mike

On hardware , it's just a seal of approval that the hardware meets certain operational criteria.
Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.

Now I don't think it's such a big deal that my DVD/CD player isn't THX but reviever is.
