Hardware list (currently contemplating)

Silverstone Grandia GD05B mATX case

Thermaltake TR2 500W ATX12V V2.3 Power supply

Asus F2A55-M LK AMD A55 Motherboard (Integrated Radeon HD7000)

AMD A6-5400K Black Edition

Kingston DDR3 8GB 1600 DUAL HYPER (2X4GB) HYPER X GRAY

All of this is locally available (Thank you Fry's Electronics!) for under $300 total. I am planning on getting a SSD, and probably a Logitech HarmonyOne remote. I plan to run XBMC on top of Windows 7.

What else do I need?

Basic aim is to get rid of cable, the only problematic part will be getting sports. I have a network capable blu ray, and an LG flatscreen from ~ 2 years ago, 6 HDMI inputs, network ready, etc. I also have an Onkyo HT-RC260 receiver.

For time-shifted "live" sports you will need at least an antenna and an OTA tuner.

Two confirm, do you want to cut cable period or do you want to stop renting DVR boxes if the latter then you would need to purchase a TV Tuner. Secondly you need to purchase some HDDs.

Pretty much cut cable period. I'm ok with Netflix/hulu plus and the online available channels (USA and a few others). I already have 2, 2TB USB external drives.
