Here's a proposed HTPC build that I had in mind... I'm wondering how well this would work at all. Would the optical connection provide full 5.1 support with this mobo? Here's a list of the components in its entirety:

You have some pretty high end components there. I think if you have the money, stick with what you have. I would recommend getting 4 GB of RAM to match all your other components. It is more than sufficient for any of your HTPC needs, including BR/HD-DVD playback, x264 playback, TV recording, etc. Have fun. I'll be jealous once you're done with it.

I can't find LC17M at the SiverStone site. Maybe LC16M?
