I have a new rca 490 utv reciever that will not power up.anyone have any

suggetsions?(other than return it)

First try both the remote and case mounted power switches. If you still don't have power, you could

try reseating the power supply ribbon cable. And if you have a DMM, see if the board is powered or not.


Unplug the power cord, take your card out, remove the two case screws at the top edge of the back

side.. the case opens like a clamshell, then carefully lift out and reseat the ribbon cable that

connects the small power supply board to the main circuit board. HTH.

I have read about many UTV's fuse holder not making contact with the fuse..

Try pulling out the fuse and bending the tabs tighter

iredato thanks for the info on taking the unit apart!!!!! Klassic you the man one of the tabs was wide apart pulled fuse squeezed tabs GOT MY UTV!!

What a great forum.

Now if someone could tell me why my tuner 1 doesn't work any more it would be an even better forum!

Excessive heat seems to be the major cause of UTV hardware failures. I have found that placing an unmodified UTV in any type of semi-enclosed cabinet, causes it to get way too hot.
