I have a older def tech sub that I had hooked up to my computer for years, I just hooked it up to my Home Theater for some added bass because of the large room.

It only has Low Level inputs for Right and Left, no yellow LFE channel like my newer sub. I only have 1 plug hooked up at the moment, into the R channel because its MONO.

My question is, am I getting a full signal to it or do I need to get a Y adapter to split into the the 2 channels? I mean, it sounds GOOD and hits well, but, if I am not giving it the full juice, it will sound better.

Thanks for the input!

You're good. LFE is mono and subs just add the left and right inputs in the preamp section anyway. How are you connecting both subs?

I have a Y adapter splitting the subs coming off the Sub-preout jack.

One sub only has 1 rca in. The other has the 2, but I only have it hooked up to the R(red) and not the L(white). I just dont have that other cable.

I was just curious if you had daisy chained them. Have you set the cross overs on both subs to highest level or disabled? Have you made all the other typical settings in your receiver (small speakers, ~80 crossover, sub to yes)?

If you feel more comfortable, get a 2male/1female Y so you can connect to both inputs on the DT, but it isn't necessary.

daisy chaining is a bad idea for me. by the time the signal exits the 2nd sub to the 3rd one, it was already so weak...most of the time under normal listening, it does not come on.

My concern is that sometimes the outputs are high passed. That would make the second sub not a sub.

Yes, all settings are good to go. I have the crossover on the subs all the way up, and settings on the receiver for small speakers and bassout to subs, with the xover setting on that at 80hz.

Sorry for the newbness, but whats DT?

haha, sorry, thanks for the clarification.

I actually have a prosub 800 and the powerfield 12 now, I really want to updgrade from that to a SVS or something, but I will be moving in a few months and not sure what kind of place I will be getting. Condo/townhome which would render the SVS useless. I am going to be waiting on that. Should I get a house (with falling prices I just might be able to) then an SVS is a for sure upgrade.

Thanks for the info!
