RCA DRS7000N - extraction of video?

Alright, quick couple of questions before I go and buy this unit (Circuit City has them down to $200). Is there any method of getting the digital video off the hard drive without dismantling the unit? Or is the best method, if you find something you want to keep permanently (a great episode or something) to output to a VCR and record via S-video?


Other question - What is the typical recording length for good quality - not the basic/low quality.
