Hey everyone,

So I'm designing a whole-house audio system, and I want to run speakers to the pool that will be mono. The speakers are going to be 50' apart, so using stereo just seems pointless. I know HTD sells a system that optionally switches each zone to mono, but it's $300 more than the other 6-zone amp and I'm wondering if I can save some money.

The entire system is powered by a Squeezebox Duet, and that's the only input I have. I was thinking I could split the RCA out from the Squeezebox and then do a stereo to mono conversion to one input and run the RCAs directly to another input for a stereo signal. Then I select which input I want (stereo or mono) for each of the zones, and tada.

Am I nuts? Feel free to say yes.
