Monster cable is expensive everywhere I look. I'd rather not get them since they usually charge more for brand name. But Is the Acoustic Research AP053 a good one? I was looking for something around $20 w/ shipping. But it has to be 12' or more. I have a Monster THX cheapie but it's only 6' and that's not long enough.

Thks.

I figure the AR may be a good one just wanted your opinion.

Recently found a good deal on a Monster THX Ultra 1000 Subwoofer cable, for $8 more. Should I go for that or get the AR cable which is about $18

Radio Shack sells a heavy-duty shielded 4m cable for about $15.

There's no difference whatsoever between this cable and a $600 silver-stranded, braided-jacket, palladium-connector'ed, audiophile-approved cable.

If it makes you feel better to have spent that kind of money for a cable, then you got your money's worth - but IMHO it didn't do a darn thing for the sound.

You could have either made your own from a piece of RG-6 & a couple of $3 connectors, or you could buy a quality sub cable from Blue Jeans Cables for less than $40. Anything more is snake oil.
