Hi,

I'm helping a friend look for a hdtv and I want to recommend the rca's to him(mm36110, for example) because I know they are the best picture quality for his price range. But I've also heard about Thomson Electronics low reliability ratings. I don't want to recommend him a tv and then have it break down within a couple years. Are low quality standards still an issue with RCA/GE/Thomson, or have they addressed this in new sets? I would expect 5-10 years of problem free use from a $1000+ tv.
