has any one tested picture quality difference using a 6 foot rca video cable (as the component cable) vs. using a 6ft component cable? i know longer distances would call for thicker cable, but i am wondering if dealing with short distances, whether a ordinary 6ft rca video cable performs as well as a 6ft component cable into the component connections.

How are you distinguishing one from another? AFAIK, a component cable is merely 3+ video cables bound together.

i thought that maybe component cables are thicker than the rca cables in the old style white, red, yellow standard video cables?
