My RCA HD player has locked up on the welcome screen. I tried unplugging the system and holding in the power button. The machine still stops at the welcome screen. I reseated all the cables to the motherboard and the memory with no solution. Is this player a lost cause? Thanks.

It sounds like you need to send it in for repair, if it is worthwhile.
