re: Poopli & other DVRs

Is Poopli exclusive to ReplayTV? I have a RTV5040, and just got a Sony HDG HDD500 (to get hi-def recording), any idea if there's any way to hook that into my PC? If so, will it work with Poopli? I'm assuming not as there's no ethernet connection, but there is a USB...any thoughts help would be appreciated!

Nope. Since other DVRs can't share shows over the internet, there is nothing Poopli can do for other DVRs.

poopli is heavily built around everything that the replay does, having a different dvr supported would be nearly impossible. beyond that, the only one that would have a chance is tivo anyway, without a large enough install base poopli would fail.

Not to mention that HiDef recordings take up about 10GB/HR worth of drive space - think about how long it would take to send that much data...
