I am having a very strange phenominon happen to me. Whenever I listen to "The breaking of the fellowship" from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, this very odd, scratchy sound is introduced. It is subtle, but VERY annoying, I have been trying to isolate the problem but so far have been quite unsuccessful. I use a media PC for all my music which was ripped losslessly and the sound is there when I use the CD and ripped version. Also, I tried the CD on one of my other stereos and the problem is still there. Soooo...I downloaded an MP3 of the song to see if it had the same issue, IT DID! I burned that song to a CD and played it on my stereo and the problem was gone. Now, all I have is an MP3 of one of my favorite songs that I bought. Any Idea what on earth is going on?

Because record companies are paranoid. Welcome to a world where instead of buying CDs you buy low quality crap online that protects you from the vendor. And welcome to "CDs" that can't even have the CDDA logo on them because they broke the spec.

In the future, don't buy CDs without the CDDA logo, and stay clear of anything but un-watermarked, lossless-compressed audio online.

zunior.com is the only place I've seen that does lossless ($2 more than the base 192 mp3 album price)
