Rear Projection ACCEPTING 1080p signal

1006 Views 8 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  GlenC
What is the current list of RP tv's that not only display 1080p but accept the signal as well? I realize it is a matter of opinion but how do these units stack up against the top of the line Samsung dlp and Sony SXRD? Thanks in advance.

the new brillian 1080p accepts 1080p input; it is 65" LCoS; While I have not gotten mine delivered yet (so I cannot voice my own experience yet), this model and the previous 720p models got outstanding reviews
The new JVC FH and R1 LCoS sets also seem to accept 1080p, although it can be problematic, as with all new 1080p sets, apparently.

The tech is just too new, still, with too few manufacturers producing components.
The only set currently out that accepts 1080p via HDMI is the HP DLP!
That may be sort of officially true irishrulze, pretty many people are said to have tried it with various 1080p displays and most of them actually will take the input. I would assume these are people with quite capable scalers though.
Brillian, HP and Mitsubishi are the three that accept 1080p input.

Which Mitsu model accepts 1080p inputs??
The higher end Mitsu DLP models, like the Samsungs, accept 1080p over VGA, IIRC. The Brillian accepts 1080p over DVI, and the HP accepts it over HDMI.

Mitsubishi models WD-62927 and WD-73927 also have a 15-pin PC monitor input. In addition to the PC resolutions available via HDMI-2, This input also accepts 1920 x 1080, 60-Hz signals to provide maximum performance when used with Home Theater PC/Media Centers.

Samsung also uses the 15-pin PC input.

HP uses the HDMI.

The Brillian supports 1080p on the DVI (HDMI w/adapter) and 15-pin
