My dad has a Panasonic Mod PT52lcx65 rear projection tv. Yesterday I saw that there are green, orange, and blue spots on the screen. They do not appear to move but very from intense to minimal, depending what is being viewed. It is intense when a golf green or fairway is on the screen. It also has the spots when watching a DVD. Mfg sept 2005.
Is it time to upgrade or is this a reasonable price fix?
Any advice direction appreciated.
I have a pic I could post but I do not see how to do that from my iphone.

Many if not all of the guns in these CRT RPTVs have glycol coolant in them. Believe it or not, mold can grow in the stuff and that may be what is causing the visible spots. There are a couple of guys here who are very knowledgeable about these types of sets, and one of them is "Mr Bob". As well as being a calibrator, he's also a tech who does repairs. I'd PM him and see what he thinks.
