In the market to get new rears, I have Paradigm Atoms now. We're

remodeling the family room and my wife wants to eliminate the stands and

lg rear speakers. I've been looking at in-wall type, we have vaulted

ceilings. The placement area we agreed on is about 3ft behind the listener

and 5 ft above. The ceiling in that area has about a 30deg angle so the

speaker would be aimed toward the listener.


Should I get direct firing or bipole type speakers? any help would be greatly appreciated.

IF you ever think you will listen to SACD or DVD-Audio, then directional is the way to go.


IF its only movies, since the speakers are that close, I would go for the diffuse sound of the di-poles.
