Rear surrounds that can take a beating?

I want to get new rear surround speakers. I can't make up my mind on what though. In wall or on wall, or something that can be mounted to the wall (goldenear supersat). Problem is one wall is 2x3 and one is 2x4. I could make some spacers, like an angled frame that directs it more towards the listener but also gets me the clearance for the 2x3 wall.

My fear is that I'll get an anemic surround speaker. These 5.25 an 4 inch speakers don't impress me. I'd like response to 80hz, something that can be powered by a denon x4000, and won't struggle when being pushed.

The rslw26 caught my eye. 84$ a piece. I know there's some 8" in walls around too. Fluance has some on walls but I don't trust them really. Martin Logan fresca could work if I could find used ones. I want a speaker that can take being used as a main. Any cheap in walls around that people are liking as mains?

My big concern is something that can save space over a bookshelf speaker on a stand

You are going to laugh but have you considered outdoor speakers instead?

They come with brackets and some decent ones can be had for cheap at Best Buy with free returns.

My daughter has these outdoors and they play loud and clean with decent bass sitting 35 feet away.

I am not opposed to them, they are 6 ohm though. Wonder if that's OK for my x4000. 6.5" is good, come with brackets.

Anyone else? Anyone who likes to listen on the loud side have a good recommendation?
The pioneer sp-b22-lr, or atmos enabled version might be good? But they are rear ported.
JBL Pro Cinema SCS 8 may work for you. They have a 120x120 dispersion pattern, 95 db sensitivity, and built in mounts that allow you to direct them as needed. They are a bit larger but are 8" and can handle 80hz x-over. They will take what your Denon can throw at them all day long.

Street price is around $320 each on them. Not cheap but very good quality and actually a bargain compared to equivalent coaxial speakers with compression drivers. Myself, and many others, use the for surround and Atmos/DTS:X and love them.

They will work just fine with that receiver plus easy returns at Best Buy so nothing to lose.

I think they are available in black as well.
Woooo, those jbl scs8 are nice but out of my price range. I'd like to be around 200$ for a pair, 300$ max. I don't mind used either, I'm sure there's something out there that will work.

Right now I have 2 mirage m290 for rear surrounds, I want to replace them with something that isn't as intruding to my rooms space. I like their sound and gave 70$ for them used and would prefer to use them for music upstairs.
Well I ended up making an offer on some jbl 8330a surrounds. Those are the 8" 5" and tweeter 3 way surrounds. Should be good! 200$ shipped with included brackets. I hope they work well!

Wow! I was worried they were going to be to big, also unsure how they would mount but they came with commercial theater brackets. I just put a screw through one side of the mount and screwed straight into a stud. Now I just need to wire them up. I took the grills off and looked at them, did some test listening the entire time I was mounting them. Used just stereo sound. I'm very surprised how much bass they have! Very clear as well. I don't think I'll be worried about hurting them at all. Can't complain for 200$, exactly what I wanted to pay.
