I am in the process of building a dedicated theater and am looking for recommendations for a list of receivers that I should research. The room will be 18x10.5, seating for about 7 people with a ceiling mounted projector (leaning towards at least 3 newly released models heatedly discussed on the "Under $3500 Projector Forum".


I will be using the theater for HDTV, DVD, and XBox. I am a complete newbie with respect to Receivers... I'm not in the market for the highest end unit, however I'm not looking fo the chepest model either.


I am not sure where this would land me as far as MSRP... I would say I could start at like $1000 and go up/down from there.


I would like to find something that would provide an excellent quality theater sound experience (Who wouldn't right )


Any an all input would be greatly appreciated?

Start with these and do some research to see how well they fit....


-Pioneer Elite 56 TXi...fully functional i-link, advanced MCACC (Auto speaker set up and auto room EQ with room resonance measurements)

-Marantz SR7500 w/auto EQ

-Denon 3805 w/ auto EQ

-Cambridge Audio Azur AVR

-Sherwood Newcastle R 956 with Auto EQ (via upgraded software)


At the price point, these are the best of the bunch.

Yamaha rv 2500 htr 5790 .

Harman/Kardon AVR7300. You will be set for years.


And a 2nd for the Denon 3805 (based on the forum reviews).
