Receiver advice needed

1025 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  MobiusBP
I was hoping someone could point me towards a good receiver. I've got a Samsung LCD, direct tv, and a PS3 for games and bluray. Ordered Infinity Primus P362 floors, PC350 center, and P162 surrounds.

I don't need 3D. Not planning on going that route anytime soon. I would like to get 7.1 in case I wanted to do that in the future. I know video processing upconverts, but do I need that since I'm not hooking up a DVD player or VCR?

Budget?
Wow can't believe I forgot that. Under $500 would be nice.
Yamaha RX-V1900.....great deals around at $500 or less. Unbeatable value at that price considering the feature set an amplifier section.
Thanks for the input Mayhem and Palehorse. I'll have to do a little research on those models.
I love my Onkyo 807 or the 180 almost twin that is in your budget.

Denon 3310.

Looks like the deals on the Denon 3310 have dried up. Any suggestions for an authorized dealer that still has them at such a low price?

try Best Buy, seriously. They have been trying to clear out their 2009 stock, and the 3310 can had found there for less than $500, new! IF you're lucky enough to find one...

I second the notion for the TX-NR807/RC180. I own the RC180 and i have Infinity Primus P362, PC250, and P142, and the Onkyo does just fine with them. I only have a PS3 hooked up to the receiver and nothing else, so i cant comment on the Direct TV part, but in the 4 months that ive owned this avr i have had no problems.

Im quite sure any other receiver you choose will be great. Good luck!
