Receiver Connection Question

191 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Getstew
I have a Sony NW A30 Hi Res music player. I like the sound quite a bit.

Question: It has no specific line out.
Am I losing anything by just connecting from the headphone jack to the L/R of my receiver using a 3.5mm to RCA plug cable? It seems to have plenty of output, but I'm thinking about impedance/resistance, voltage vs an actual line out.

Thanks!

It would be just like a smartphone headphone jack into your receiver. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Or you could always connect via Bluetooth since that A30 Walkman has bluetooth, if your receiver has it too.

Thanks. I thought I had heard that voltage and resistance were different enough between headphone out and line out that mixing them would not sound as good.

And I don’t want to do Bluetooth because it won't pass full Hi Res.

Appreciate the reply!
