My integra 6.5 receiver is dead - more specifically by video processing is dead - the audio is fine - so I am running the blu-ray and satellite directly to the projector

I need a temp solution (I am awaiting the Emotiva UMC-1 or the Outlaw 997 if they ever get released)

I have an amplifier (Emotiva UPA-7) already

Can I just get a cheap receiver that processes HDMI like the Marantz 4002?

I know that lossless codecs are not decoded but presumably my blu-ray can do that. Do I need to worry about HDMI version? I guess I don;t have to worry about the Wattage on the receiver since the amp will be doing that.

Am I missing anything else on the 4002 (or even the 5002) that I would need in the short-term?

THanks

A 4002 refurb would be a great way to go. Cheap and will do a good job until you get your Emotiva.

An HK 247 would be even cheaper from Harman Audio on ebay - under $200. I've previously used one with my UPA-7 for a while until I got an Onkyo SC885 - which I'm changing out for an Emotiva LMC-1.
