First off I'm a noob when it comes to av receivers I'm currently looking at the pioneer elite vsx-80 and the onkyo Nr 636 And the Marantz sr5008(links below) I'm just torn between the three everyone on this site seems very knowledgable so hopefully you all can help thank you in advance my main use is for movies and watching tv I just want the best sound possible and quality

All those are fine; that is, they would meet the general need you stated. So would comparable models from other major manufacturers. They will sound the same since receivers have far, far less effect on source material sound than do the room you listen in and your speakers.

To make a substantive recommendation we need more information. First describe your room or listening area (how big is it? How many walls? Acoustically live or dead?) Next list your programming sources and (if possible) stipulate how you want to connect them to your receiver. Finally tell us what speakers you have or plan to buy.

For best results think about the room first, then your speakers, then your programming sources. The receiver comes last; and, barring some obvious differences, they're pretty much alike within a given price band.
