@kdx221 Option 1. do 5.2.4 in the living room, use zone 2 preouts for the kitchen and zone 3 preouts for the patio. You just need two small external amps to drive those zones. This is the setup I was going to use in my old house that had the same 3 zones. I already had the small amps to power everything but I sold that home before getting the denon x6500.
option 2. I don't have sonos so not sure how it works, but do 5.2.4 in the living room, zone 2 preouts for the kitchen (with small amp) and then the sonos for zone 3. Either through zone 3 preouts or wirless, not sure? Someone with real world experience will need to chime in. I think there are some zone 3 solutions that could be wireless? Again don't have any real world experience with those.
Most boutique brands don't seem to have zone 3 preouts so off the top of my head, here are the newer receivers that can do 9 channels plus zone 2 and 3 (preouts).
Denon - x4500/4700/6500/6700/8500
Marantz - sr7013/7014/7015/8012/8015
Yamaha - a2080/3080
Pioneer elite sc704/904 or older 701/801/901 (if you can find them)
