Thats the best test there is.

I will try both, but i am sure i will not be able to tell a difference from either one. Was hoping for a more technical answer with numbers, i do well with statistcs and numbers than the lazy eyeballs!

What do you suggest i use for comparison? a junky dvd player or something else? what do you suggest?

Use what you are going to be watching mostly..


I'd just stick with the TV upconversion, myself. I can't tell a difference in how it looks with my H/K. People get so hung-up on upconversion that they spend a bunch of extra money just to have it on the receiver, when it really doesn't matter much at all.

Compare whatever you will be watching.

I have a mitsi 73734 and my onkyo 3007 does a much better job. I'm looking at hd 1080i upconverted to 1080p and it looks amazing. I did have a 705 that was pass through via hdmi and the picture didn't look near as good. I am extremely pleased with this feature and to be honest with you, I didn't expect to see this much, or any differance in the picture but I was way wrong. I would definately recomend trying both to see, realizing that I have a different processor I think.

Thanks for the insight lintonindy, I was thinking the same, my reciever will do a better job. I was hoping to hear someone say that the denon 2310ci has a better video processor than my mitsu! lol

If you really want to know, get the HQV benchmark discs.
