I just have a pretty simple question. My friend offered to sell me his 6.1 channel receiver for a really good price but the thing is, I only have two speakers and want to keep it that way. So basically, can a 6.1 channel receiver also work as a 2.0 channel receiver?

Definately. You just need to use the Stereo mode of the receiver.

front left and right. Why would you want just stereo anyway? You're missing out on a world of awesome surround sound!

Doesn't take much room and with stand, wall mounts and a lil imigination it's pretty easy to setup one in any space. Stick with 2 speakers for now if you want but you'll get the "what if" bugg
