Loud commercials drive me crazy.


Are there any receivers with Smart Sound, Auto Volume control?


I love the receiver I'm using but I really need one with this feature.


This was all I could find as a solution. It's a external device that goes between your source and your receiver but it doesn't look like it works with digital 5.1 etc, just analog L and R.

This would be a great feature...not sure why no one employs it. My friends and I all have the same annoyance when watching OTA HD.

Well those devices (and the old TV that had it, remember which one..??didn't think so) can just end up making the sound even worse.


How do you determine what 'level' the volume should be maxed out at?

IMHO it would make much more sense for that feature to be added to the source device. IE, if you;'re getting the audio from your tv, the tv should have that, if its a STB(digital cable, it should have that feature), I dont think it would be appropriate to have it on the reciever, you woul dhave to turn it on and off all the time when listening to other sources.
