CBS & FOX are coming to D* soon. Most HD D* receivers have ATSC tuners built-in, however you will need an outdoor UHF type antenna to receive the OTA signal (also live close enough to a city that has stations that broadcast in HD). Some HDTV's have ATSC tuners built-in but most do not.

You can only get a national network feed over satellite if you live in certain markets. Most people will have to get an antenna and pick these up over-the-air from their local affiliates.

OR you can sqeeze a waiver out of your local station(s). Not too many are giving waivers(so don't get your hopes up), but some are.

And D* refers to Directv only.

"D*" is DirecTV.

Most "D*" receivers can receive both satellite & OTA ATSC signals. A UHF style antenna is needed for OTA signals. I don't have DISH(or "E*") but I believe it is similar to "D*".

You can get National HD feeds from BEV (canadian sat provider). Kind of pricey though.

See either of the "sticky" threads at the top of the forum. CBS-HD will go live at the end of this month. Fox doesn't do HD. ABC and NBC HD national feeds are not carried by American satellite provider.

That's only for O&O, not sure if NC even has an O&O CBS.
