reception blockage

So,

Now that I have my plasma (ED I know but I sit 10' away) and picked up a samsung T351 with DVI out, I decided to hook it up to my radio shack amped indoor antenna.

Wouldn't you know, no signal.

I live (on the ground floor) across the street from a school which is 4 stories high and deep and is line of sight blocking my view from the towers.

My window is the equivalent of 9 lanes of traffic away (2 way street with parking on each side plus 2 lane equivalent of space from curb to wall +-)

I'm thinking I'm going to need to get higher and away from the building, no?

I guess I'll take pictures tomorrow.

seth: First, how far away are the transmitting towers? Are they in different directions? Low power or high power, if you know?
All are 11 miles away and in the same location.

I've had limited success with the same equipment but a mile and a half down the road. The limited was due to multipath. The solution there was a larger antenna and less amplification. (and got even more channels even from the next county.

I'm thinking along the same lines again.

zip 33140 in case you want to see antennaweb yourself.
