I actually did just that and it worked well for me. I know that there are much better amps and that the RS amp could introduce noise, which would make the signal worse. I'd say give it a try as they are cheap and see if it works for you.
The bottom line is if you have maxed out with your antenna, then an amp might be necessary to overcome a long cable run or to boost your signal but just be sure you actually need the amp first (as opposed to a better antenna)
