OK...It is time to jump to the HDMI reciever game for my new HT!

I'm really liking the Onkyo 805 at only $699.

It really seems to have everything to be a MASTER HT Receiver!

Money is TIGHT with everything I am buying...New HC4900, New Screen, and not to mention all the money spent just to build the theater! So I REALLY need the BEST bang for the buck...

is there anything else out there better for the $$$

ALSO....I want it to OUTPUT 1080P for my HC4900.

I will be hooking up a:

1. HD Cable box via HDMI

2. Upscaling DVD player via HDMI

805 has ultra 2 (vs select) THX certification. You can google THX for some articles on why that may be a good thing.

805 says something about using top of the line Burr Brown DACs. Marginal improvement, perhaps

I didn't see anything else obvious, try the product specific threads in this forum for more info

I wouldn't worry too much about 1080p output. AVR video processors may help you, but it sounds like you may have good sources. So I would not expect an AVR processor to help much.
