I would like to see if any forum members have opinions on a good 16 camera surveillance DVR recording system?

I will be controlling it with a Crestron controller. I am not interested in specing out the cameras now, just the DVR device.

There are so many choices out there it is hard to choose a good one. The budget is $1000 - $2000 for the DVR device.

I am interested in good picture quality.

You may want to consider an NVR, if you don't have any wires run.

The Axis website has some good literature, for a start.

A lot depends on what your Crestron CI wants to do.

I have good luck with Dedicated Micros DVRs... I think there is also a Crestron module for them which will make your integration easier.

Not sure if the 16 camera version will fit in your budget? I think their least expensive line is the ECO series.

Hi,

I have just installed a Speco Hybrid DVR for a customer. (16TH1TB)

16 Cameras, upto 4 IP cameras.

It uses RS 485, for serial communication.

It will make it easy to connect any available dome cameras, later on.

(If your CI needs a Crestron module, let me know...)

Major online shops (Spytown.com etc...) carry it, or you can buy from a local delaer, for a wee bet more...

Price Range: 1700 - 1900 USD, for the model with a 1 Terabyte storage.

It is also MAC compatible (using a Java application for remote viewing)

It also has a web based and a dedicated network viewer and all the usual goodies.

It has also 16 Audio port for recording and remote listening.

For more info at Specotech's website.
