Hi,
I am looking to replace my current receiver a Pioneer XV-HTD510 . It is close to 10 years old, with no hdmi. It was a "packaged" set from Costco with speakers. I do not wish to replace the speakers.
I currently have all my hdmi devices going to my tv, a Samsung HP-T4264. Xbox 360, Cable - Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD, DVD Player - Pioneer DV-220V. The only audio in 5.1 is sent via digital co-ax from the DVD Player - Pioneer DV-220V to the Pioneer XV-HTD510.
So my goal would be to have all 3 devices send hdmi to the receiver, giving me the ability to have 5.1 (or 7.1 audio in the future).
I assume this means I need a minimum of 3 hdmi in, and 1 hdmi out. I am assuming hdmi out sends the signal from the various inout sources to the TV?
Looking for a budget entry level receiver, sub $400. I'm in Canada and Futureshop has a fair amount of devices on sale right now. The option to link Blackberry or iPhone would be nice. My current speakers are basic wire connections with an un-powered subwoofer. I am unsure how I would connect my subwoofer to any current generation model receiver since they seem to an rca style jack for a powered subwoofer.
Looking at Pioneer VSX-820-K, Sony STRDN610, but not overly familiar with this equipment. Maybe I am the kind of person that should be buying another all in one "package".
So requirements:
3 hdmi in, 1 hdmi out
Blackberry or iPhone sync
Basic speaker connections
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
