Recommendation: Complete my mancave setup (Yamaha studio montiors) with a center channel

Hello,

I have turned my garage into a mancave. Carpeted, couches, basically turned it into a 2nd living room.

This is what my current setup is:

Outlaw 976
Yamaha HS8 Fronts
Yamaha HS5 Rears

Big fan of Yamaha Natural Sound, speakers, amps, etc.

I mainly listen to music, however I will be adding a TV for football and the occasional movie night.

I am using balanced XLR connections for the speakers.

I need a good center channel speaker recommendation to go 5.1 and possibly 7.1 in the future.

I was thinking of using a Klipsch Icon VS-14 speaker that I have, it is a budget curved rounded center channel, however considering that I have high quality Yamaha monitors, I figured it may be a good idea to get something to match quality wise.

What do you guys recommend? I would prefer something with a balanced connection that is monitor quality, and I really love that Yamaha Natural Sound.

It is acceptable to advise me to not go with a center channel, just use the Klipsch, or maybe recommend something out of left field. I have nowhere near the years of audiophile experience as you guys, so let me know what you think?

I really appreciate your guidance. :)

I have something similar only use for surrounds, get a Yamaha monitor as center or a 3 way center channel.
Essentially bipolar speakers so terrible for any of front 3 duty .
Even a cheap 2 way center beats those Klipch.. but they would be good for 7ch surround back or sides .

Unfortunately onlyYamaha will sound like Yamahas. Although lots of people had success mixing center channel brands with fronts , 8” woofer is good sized .

I am going to have just a preamp running the system, so a powered speaker is a must. Now that I think about that, the Klipsch is most definitely out, and my options are extremely limited to monitors and such.

Looks like I may run without a center, unless there are any good powered "centers" that don't look like just a left or right speaker on tipped on its side.. :(

Something like that! Price point isn't bad, looks great too.

Only concerns really are how it would sound along with the Yamahas in a 5.1 setup...

Any thoughts?

I'd just get a single powered monitor that's sold singly, and use it as a vertical center...something with a 6.5" or 8" woofer and super clear. JBL 306p or 308p maybe? Free return shipping to jbl.com
A third HS8 would be the optimal centre in your situation.
This ^^^^^^ another HS8 makes so much more sense than any other solution. To answer your next question, no, not on it's side.
This is closer to 8” woofer

Yeah bookshelves standing regular for center work fine .
