I used SW 6258 Tricorn Black Paint. We used it for the ceiling. The rest covered with different fabrics. Just finishing the theater so I am attaching a sample picture here. I thought it turned out to be really good. This paint has an LRV rating of 2. Hope this helps.

Here is my wall now with a flat black paint.
I won't claim it's better than what others have recommended, but I am very happy with the Valspar "Cracked Pepper" color. It seems very black, and covers well.
If you happen to prefer shopping at Lowe's for some reason, it's something to consider.

The blackest paint available is Rosco Supersaturated Velour Black #6003. It's what's used in professional stage productions and theaters. Valspar and others are far more available and less costly options, but hey...you asked the question.
