What do folks recommend for calibrating a new set? I'm sure there are simple and complex methods. At one point I had a calibration DVD. Do I need to go to that length - if I can find it.

Thinking simple, and hoping t get the best picture I can!

The TV is a Sony Bravia KDL55W700B for reference.

Thanks!

You can use a calibration disk such as the free AVS HD709 disk or a commercial one like WoW, Spears & Munsil, etc. Keep in mind that the best you can do with a disk alone is a semi-accurate adjustment of the basic settings. To calibrate, you need an accurate light meter and specialized software. You can DIY or hire a professional but the learning curve is steep. Depending on how your tv came out of the factory, an adjustment may be all you need.
