Hello all and I appreciate your consideration and help in getting me something decent for a center speaker.


I recently bought the Harman avr 245 off fleabay and waiting its arrival.


I have relatively large room where the stereo is, 30x20ish, vaulted ceiling, and have hard wood floors so sound travels very easily.


I have 2 Sharper Image dome tower speakers model rn200.


Specs for them are:

Impedence:4-8ohms

Power:20-200w(rms)

Sensitivity: 88db+/- 3db

Frequency: 20Hz-20KHz


I realize that these are not the best speakers; however they sound good enough for me, I think, as of now.


I also have a 8'' powered sub.


Would anyone be willing to recommend something for a center speaker?

I will, in the future, add in ceiling speakers for the rear end as well as outdoor speakers for the deck. Obviously with what I have now, I do not have a lot to work with so a modest recommendation is appreciated.

Whatever fits. I could not find any info on the speakers and, from what I have seen at Sharper Image, the FR spec is not to be believed. Still, in such a large room with hardwood floors (and assuming no acoustical treatments), it is difficult to imagine what the matching sound should or could be. If the present sound suits you, go back to eBay and see what fits.

Yeah - nothing exists on the speakers that I have, other than forums that I seens from Fatwallet but i can not post anything for it since its a thread and I can not do that since I am a new member.


roughly 30 lbs each tower that are piano black.

tower is 2x8'', 2x4'', and a tweet to each.
