Recommendations for 35-36" Tube Set

I may be in the market for a new TV depending on the feedback that I receive on another post regarding problems with my 6-7 year old Toshiba 35" CX35F60. I would like to get a similar sized unit, either 35-36" as I have a wall entertainment unit that is limited to that size range. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm leaning towards SONY.

There are no 35" sets nowadays. In 4:3 size, there is 32" and 36" diagonal. In 16:9 size there is 34" diagonal.

Now for an even "dumber" question.

How does regular broadcast TV look on the 34" 16:9 screen?

I love my JVC AV-36FA54 .

It's an analog set, but a great picture, 2 component ins, subwoofer out, (if you wanna hook up a wee sub to it, instead of running your main stereo for normal TV watching) PIP and the 16:9 compression mode that makes DVDs look awesome.

It had some red push, and geometry issues, but nothing that couldn't be fixed from the easily accessible service menu.

Great buy.
