Hello friends, been a while since I've been on this side of the board. Bought A Panny plasma EDTV for my brother from visual apex last Summer (PD6uy or something like that). My co-worker/friend has asked me to look for a tv for his room and I recommended a Panny since they are very popular here.


I was hoping someone could recommend a Pannny EDTV that has builit in speakers and maybe a wall mount (preferabbly black in color but no big deal). Last time I checked the 25up (or something like that) was pretty popular last year, but I can't seem to find it's replacement.


Budget is $1500 give or take a few $$. He would like a "42, but I told him a "38 would be more realistic for that price range. In fact, he would be content with an LCD tv, but I don't think they make a quality one in that price range, or do they?

$1500 will limit your choices significantly. I don't really have a recommendation at that price level. For a few hundred more you may be able to find a Panasonic 42PD50U, which is the current 42" ED model, there is no Panasonic 37" ED model anymore. The 42PD50U has built in speakers and a QAM/ATSC HDTV tuner. It's wall mountable but I don't know what hardware you'd need. Unfortunately the set is silver, not black. I have the PD50U and I like it, and I'm very picky about image quality.
