Hello all,

I have followed these forums for a while

I just got a HDcable box with fireware, followed :

HowTO record via 1394/Firewire to WindowsXP and got CapDVHS working.

I can record perfectly with CapDVHS as one hugh file (about 2 gig per 30mins).

I want to be able to split the 2 gig into segments while recording and from what I read DCTrecord has this as an option.

I have looked everywhere and can’t not find an information about configuring the app and have had no luck figuring it out for my self.

Can someone point me in the right direction on either configuration for multiple segment output and capturing for DCTrecord or another application that can accomplish this?

Post link I will read.. searching forums have lead me in different directions and I'm looking for something concrete to work with.

If you use the commandline app just do the following:

dctrecord.exe -s 1999 -f filename.tp

This should do files just under 2 gig.

If you use the GUI, then just put the put 1999 in the Recording Filesize box.
