Question-

For kicks I am ran one of my A/V composite inputs from my Pioneer 3150 HDTV Cable box into my VCR. For a test I taped the Time Warner demo loop. I compared the taped image I made to the image "live" running normally using my component inputs on my Samsung HLN 437w. I could swear that the tape image was playing back in 16x9!!! Am I crazy??? If true I could make casually very googd copies of HD movies for my own personl use or am I way off base???

HD signals output to analog sets will usually scale 'down' to SD with 16X9. You don't get SD quality, but it preserves the ratio. Or so I've read :)

To record HD to tape you would need an HD VHS. $$$$
