Recording SD from HD prg on 5100

I do not have any HD recording device. I DO have an HD set and 5100 box driven by Comcast in the SF Bay Area.


There is an upcoming program in HD that I'd like to record to my S-VHS recorder.


My question is, by taking the analog outputs from the 5100 into the S-VHS recorder can I get an SD stream to record or will I just record garbage?


I'd just try it but I've got to move heaven and earth to make the connections. Thought I'd ask first.

myself.


Took the rack apart (partially) and connected the S-Video OUT and the Audio L/R from the 5100 to my Sony SLV-R5RU S-VHS recorded.


HD feed to the S-Video recorder with S-VHS tape actually looks pretty good.


IT WORKS!


Now, to catch the Little Feat concert on Monday!
